Work With Your Phases
There is a celestial relic circling our sky that could hold the answer to be more in alignment with life’s phases and rhythms.
The moon.
I’ve always been fascinated with the moon and have appreciated her power and phases.
There is great wisdom in understanding and working with the moon’s strengths.
And if you are ever in question of how powerful our moon is, imagine taking a trip to a spot on the beach with the ocean waves crashing in.
The moon’s tidal force moves entire oceans from over 200,000 miles away!
So what if we started intentionally working within the phases of the powerful moon??
Here is a challenge for you: try to first become aware of the moon’s cycle and then second start to optimize your life in accordance to the phases.
NEW MOON
The new moon is a time for renewal and setting new goals and intentions
This phase represents a “new slate” and a great time for a fresh start
Carve time to identify new goal (short and long term), and engage in activities that foster introspection - like journaling and meditation.
Ask yourself or journal “What do I want to create in my life?”
Use this time for reflection, planning, and setting intentions for the next 30 days of the lunar cycle.
WAXING MOON (Crescent / First Quarter / Gibbous)
The waxing phases are the time to TAKE ACTION on the goals and intentions you set during the new moon.
The moon’s energy is building up in these phases, so take small daily steps to build momentum towards your goal.
Obstacles and road blocks may appear, but with the building energy and momentum, embrace the challenges and push through the mental barriers.
Be patient as you build momentum, and an opportunity to use peak mental clarity to finalize details and follow through on daily commitments.
FULL MOON
This time in the lunar cycle is when emotions are often heighted but also a time where you could feel most creative, inspired, and focused.
Use this time to complete critical tasks, solve problems, and finish the tasks you’ve been working on up to this point.
Go outside during the night of the full moon to appreciate and feel the powerful energy.
This is also an opportune time to use creativity and big-picture thinking. It is a great time to write, journal, meditate, and really talk or work through your feelings.
WANING MOON (Gibbous / Last Quarter / Crescent)
The final phases of the moon is a time to release, relax, and recuperate for mental recalibration.
Rest and recover - take breaks from intense work and focus on recovery activities such as breathwork and deep stretching.
This phase is also the time to let go of current or limiting beliefs.
Here is a step by step guide to Demolish Limiting Beliefs
To take it a step further - for the females out there - it can be incredibly powerful if you learn to work within your hormonal cycle much like the lunar cycle.
Although you don’t have full control of your hormonal cycle, you do have influence to shift your cycle by syncing it to the moon’s phases.
There have only been a handful of times in my life where I was able to program my hormonal cycle to the lunar cycle, but let me tell you I felt so aligned in those phases!
The book In the Flo by Alisa Vitti introduced me to this idea of syncing it all up, and here is more information on Period Cycles and Lunar Cycles.
Our lives will continue to ebb and flow between phases and seasons.
Being aware and intentional to work with your phases can help you feel more aligned with your true nature and feel more aligned with the strength of Earth’s natural seasons and phases.
It will take fierce intention and knowledge of the moon’s cycles to become more in tune with nature’s rhythms.
It is worth a try to sync up to see how your focus, mentality, and productivity can grow by tapping into the powerful phases of the moon!
